In each building are grouped various collections of traditional tools.
As the living memory of French Rural Life, the Domaine de Banizette highlights these objects, all of which were used on site, reminding us of the activities and the crafts of centuries past, at the time when people were self-sufficient and lived in the Limousine mountains.
Every-day objects, domestic objects, and the tools with which people worked the land can be found. Many of them have remained unchanged throughout the centuries: Traditional tools for wood crafts : pit sawyers, carpenters, joiners, clog-makers (a plane, an adorner, and an auger ), or those for the blacksmith or the carpenter as well as all the women's tools such as the spinning wheel and the distaff.....
Ancient photographs and illuminations from the Middle Ages show these objects in their daily use.
